⚠️ To ensure a successful installation, make sure you schedule a time when:
- You will be physically at the property.
- You will have your StayFi Express device with you.
- You will have access to change the settings in your WiFi network (typically done through the eero or Deco app on your phone, Aruba Central portal, or your device's corresponding management center).
- You will have at least one free ethernet port available in the main router of your WiFi system. If you don’t have any ports available, you can get a switch. We recommend this one.
4. FAQs
How does StayFi Express work with my existing WiFi?
StayFi Express seamlessly integrates with your existing Amazon eero, TP-Link Deco, TP-Link Omada, or Aruba system. Simply connect the StayFi Express device to the main router in your network, and it will create a branded guest login portal across your entire property. Your WiFi system will automatically broadcast the guest network, allowing you to capture guest emails without installing additional hardware.
Will I need to change my WiFi network name or password?
No—StayFi Express works with your existing network settings. You can keep your current WiFi name (SSID) and password exactly as they are.
What happens to my smart home devices and other connected equipment?
Since your network settings remain unchanged, all your smart devices will stay connected without needing to be reconfigured.
Can I use StayFi Express if my hardware isn’t listed as compatible?
If StayFi Express is con compatible with your WiFi system, you can still unlock all of our powerful marketing tools using our UniFi Access Points which ship pre-configured and ready to plug into any router.
How many StayFi Express devices do I need for each property?
Just one device per property is required, making it easy to scale across your portfolio.
I have UniFi devices. Should I use StayFi Express or adopt my devices into StayFi’s controller?
If your UniFi setup includes a UniFi Gateway—such as the UniFi Dream Machine, Dream Router, Next-Gen Gateway, or Cloud Gateway—and the gateway does not have a public IP, StayFi Express may be the best fit.
However, if you're only using UniFi Access Points without a UniFi Gateway, or your UniFi Gateway does have a public IP, a direct integration with StayFi’s controller is recommended. In that case, please schedule an adoption call to bring your devices into our system.
I have multiple systems, can I use a mixture of StayFi Express and UniFi devices?
Yes—use StayFi Express in properties where you have a compatible system (Amazon eero, TP-Link Deco, TP-Link Omada, or Aruba) and UniFi devices in all other properties, all under one StayFi account.
StayFi Express will connect to your existing router and uses your current WiFi system to broadcast a branded guest login page for compatible systems.
For other systems, you will need to order the right UniFi devices to start collecting guest data. See here for a guide on how to get started with UniFi.
